Hello, I’m Mai (pronounced like May). I’m an artist and graphic designer from the Washington, DC area. My specialty is digital illustration and design, with a current focus in book design. I also work in various traditional mediums such as ink, colored pencil, oils, and watercolors. My work is inspired by literature, nature, and folklore. My current project is illustrating Gaston Leroux's classic novel: The Phantom of the Opera.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my illustrated edition of Gaston Leroux's gothic classic, The Phantom of the Opera. The finished book will be a limited edition hardcover featuring 12 full color illustrations, decorative quotes, and ornate designs.
